TSS Temporary Skill Shortage VISA (Subclass 482)
The Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa, subclass 482, is a type of visa that allows employers to sponsor skilled overseas workers to work in Australia temporarily. It is intended to help address temporary skill shortages in Australian businesses that cannot be filled by local workers. The visa has replaced the 457 visa and has been designed to better align the visa program with Australia’s economic and labour market needs.
At Noble Ideal Consult, we understand that applying for a TSS visa can be a complex and time-consuming process. That’s why we offer expert guidance and support to our clients throughout the application process.
The TSS visa has three streams, which are the Short-Term stream, the Medium-Term stream, and the Labour Agreement stream. Each stream is designed to cater to different needs of employers and employees.
The Short-Term stream is designed for employers who need to sponsor skilled workers for up to two years for occupations listed on the Short-Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL). This stream is ideal for businesses that need to fill a temporary shortage of skilled workers or need to bring in an overseas worker for a short-term project or assignment.
The Medium-Term stream is designed for employers who need to sponsor skilled workers for up to four years for occupations listed on the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL). This stream is ideal for businesses that need to fill medium to long-term shortages of skilled workers, and for employees who want to apply for permanent residency in Australia.
The Labour Agreement stream is for employers who have a labour agreement with the Australian government. This stream is ideal for employers who have unique skills shortages that cannot be filled by the other two streams.

Eligible for a TSS Visa
To be eligible for a TSS visa, you must be sponsored by an Australian employer, have the necessary skills and qualifications for the job, and meet the English language proficiency requirements. You must also meet the health and character requirements for entry to Australia.
To apply for a TSS visa, your employer must first be an approved sponsor. This means that they have met the requirements set out by the Australian government to sponsor overseas workers. Once your employer is an approved sponsor, they can nominate you for a TSS visa.
At Noble Ideal Consult, we provide assistance for you and your employer with every step of the application process. We can also guide you through the visa application process, including preparing and lodging your application, and providing guidance and support with other related matters such as English language testing, health and character requirements, and more.
